Many schools require teachers to maintain a class website. On their website they usually include basic information like their name and any updates on class assignments. These websites also usually include a welcoming page and a quick description about the teacher. The website might also include links to other helpful resources that help students. On Google, I searched elementary school class websites and viewed a couple of them. Many of them shared the same basic information. They were all appealing to look at too. They each had multiple tabs. One tab was a welcome tab which included basic information like the teachers name and the grade level. Many of them also included a helpful resources tab and a homework tab. For example I found a class website from a teacher from Dallin Elementary School. The link is http://missfish2ndgrade.weebly.com/. This is a class website from a second grade teacher named Miss. Fish. Her website includes many organized tabs. She has a home, homework, helpful information, literacy links, social studies, science, and math tabs. She also has basic information about what time classes end, what dates there are no school, and upcoming assignments. Many class websites share the same useful and basic information.
As a teacher, I hope to use technology in my classroom. I believe technology improves our education. Technology provides students and teachers with access to the internet. The internet provides us with many resources that we can access quickly. For example, in my classroom I would have my students access their textbooks online because it is quicker and easier and it saves the environment. In my classroom, I will also try to use a smartboard because it is a fun and interactive way to teach my students a lesson. I would also like for all my students to have Ipads or laptops so we can engage with educational websites and keep communicating easy with each other. I will also have my students do all their assignments on their laptop so it makes class more effective.
Today I visited the Technology Sandbox. I was able to see so many new technologies that can be utilized in the classroom. The coolest thing I saw was the virtual reality. I really enjoyed playing around with it! In my classroom I would like to have the 3D printer. The printer prints objects in 3D, which would make is super fun and easy to learn subjects like science. I could have my students print out 3D images of the brain or body parts to make it fun and easy to learn the body system. The students will also be more encouraged to learn and I will have so much fun teaching using it!
