There are a total of three technology standards for first grade. The first one is to know and use various text features, like the table of contents, to locate key facts or information in a text. The second standard is to use a variety of digital tools to produce and publish writing, including in collaboration with peers  with guidance and support from adults. The last standard is to ask and answer questions about key details in a text read aloud or information presented orally or through other media. I would feel most prepared to teach my students how to ask and answer questions about key details in a text read aloud or information presented orally. I would teach my students to focus and listen when information is read aloud. I would play an audiobook off a smartphone or mp3 and have my students listen. I have been using Microsoft Word for many years as a student. I started using it during elementary school, but I would just play around with the settings. I first started to seriously use it in middle school. I wasn’t taught how to utilize microsoft word physically in school, but I taught myself as I was growing up by messing around with all the different functions. Microsoft Word helped me in school by providing me with many useful functions. Microsoft Word would highlight or underline my grammatical mistakes and correct them. It also has many different templates that would help me create newsletters, advertisements, essay formats, and more. It made it easy to change fonts and font size and to tell me my word count. I have seen my teachers utilize Microsoft word since elementary school too. They would use it to create classroom newsletters, compose spelling lists, and make graphs and charts. Many teachers and students use technology everyday in the classroom. Teachers and students use laptops, smartphones, I Pads, and more. Since technology is becoming more predominant, it has been seen a lot in classrooms and educational settings. For example, students are now using textbooks online instead of using paper copies. Since smartphones are everywhere, it influences both teachers and students to use them and learn from them. Also, since most educational resources are now online, individuals are influenced to use more technology to learn new information.  There are seven ISTE standards. They are empowered learner, digital citizen, knowledge constructor, innovative designer, computational thinker, creative communicator, and global collaborator. One standard that is meaningful to me is global collaborator. It is important to collaborate with other peers. It helps you learn new ideas from different perspectives.
