Diigo is a social bookmarking website that allows individuals to bookmark and tag web pages. It also allows users to highlight, annotate, and add sticky notes to webpages. An individual can then share these annotations with other Diigo users, which makes this tool even better! I was introduced to Diigo in my EME class and I have been using it for a few weeks now! I have learned a lot. I have learned how to link my annotations to a group and learned how to share web pages with other individuals. Prior to my technology class, I had never heard of Diigo but now I am a big fan of it. I have even started to introduce it to my friends. Using Diigo has taught me how to annotate and read web pages better. I feel like it is easier to understand and comprehend information from web pages when I can write notes on my own laptop screen. Diigo allows individuals create groups where other individuals can share and comment on each other's links. This makes it easy to work on class projects. I can see myself using Diigo when I become a teacher. I will be able to assign my class readings online and they will be able to read it and annotate it right on their laptop. This will be super convenient. Technology is also becoming more common in schools, and by the time I have my own classroom I believe all teacher will be implementing technology in their classrooms. So since most students have laptops, it will be easier to keep track of my students work if they are annotating on a laptop instead of paper. Diigo will also help save paper since students do not have to print out articles and hand write their annotations. I love using Diigo!

Blooms taxonomy is a set of three hierarchical models used to classify educational learning objectives into levels of complexity and specificity. There are six levels of blooms taxonomy. The levels are create, evaluate, analyze, apply, understand, and remember. These principles can be applied using PowerPoint. Students can use the create principle to create a PowerPoint on their own. They will design and assemble their own presentation. Then students will evaluate a topic. They will do this by choosing a topic and then forming their opinion on it. They will make a PowerPoint defending their opinion on the topic. Then to apply to analyze principle, students will compare and contrast their topic to other topics. To use the apply principle, students will execute or implement their topic to a real world situation. For the understand topic, students will explain their idea/concept. Then for the remember principle, students will review and recall the facts stated in their presentation.

Teachers are tasked with being the driving force of technology innovation in a classroom and education. I believe technology aids teachers and students in reaching their learning goals. Technology clearly helps students succeed in a classroom and students learn how to use this technology from their teachers. Teacher professional development is developing and improving your skills as a teacher. Teachers always have room for professional development, teachers can always grow and improve as a teacher. We need to develop because subject matter knowledge, to improve teaching skills and strategies, and because of technology integration. Professional development can be learned by internet communities, social media, conferences, and seminars/workshops. A good website to stay informed with the latest tools for processional development is: https://www.educatorstechnology.com/2013/01/23-excellent-professional-development.html.

For my independent learning project, I decided to do a Lynda.com. I accessed this by going onto my fsu.edu and in the resources tab I found Lynda.com. This website is a learning platform that helps individuals learn business, software, technology, and creative skills to achieve personal and professional goals. It includes a library of videos and tutorials of top-quality courses taught by industry experts. The tutorials also come in many languages and there are tutorials for everyone! I really enjoyed using Lynda.com and I encourage anyone to use it. They have such a variety of tutorials and subjects that everyone can find something they are interested in! After looking through all the courses that lynda.com offers, I decided i wanted to improve my skills in Microsoft Word. There were many other options in every subject you can think of.  I choose the tutorial called "master Microsoft word." There were so many categories of different things to learn. I learned how to format ...

I have been using Twitter for many years, but I have been using it in my EME class for about 10 weeks. When I first started using Twitter I had no idea how to use it. I only made a Twitter because all of my friends had one and I felt left out. I just uploaded and profile picture and made a username. I had no followers and I did not follow anyone. I did not know how to use hashtags or know what hashtags were used for. I didn’t even know how to follow my friends or gain followers. Once my friends taught me how to follow others, the app became more fun. My friends taught me how to retweet. I would tweet and retweet everything. I would tweet everything I was doing and tweet about who I am with. I would also post pictures with friends. I would usually only retweet funny tweets from my friends or cute pictures of puppies. Many people use Twitter to just update others what they are doing and who they are with. But some individuals use it to tweet about all their opinions on different subje...

Hello! My name is Aneli Urrutia. I am currently a freshman studying at Florida State University. I just changed my major form nursing to special education. My parents are from Cuba but I was born in Miami. I speak Spanish. I have lived in Weston, Florida my whole life. Since I grew up in south Florida, I learned to love the beach. In educational settings, I personally have not used much technology. I have experience using my phone, laptops, computers, and IPads from school, but that's really it. I have seen my teachers use technology during my educational experiences. I have seen teachers use smart-boards and overhead projectors, but I have never used them myself. I have also had teachers use the same technology I have like laptops and televisions.  From this class I hope to learn more about technology i...
